Heralded as one of the most renowned pillars of African arts and culture, Davies-Okundaye acts as a beacon of courage and hope, using textiles to provide Nigerian women with a livelihood and change their lives for the better.

Lagos-based dancers Ukalina Opuwari, the founder of Boogie bee Entertainment, and Hermes Iyele describe what movement means to them.

For this piece, we interviewed inspiring individuals from Lagos’ skating community, fashion designers and textile artists, and individuals who use dance and movement as a way to express themselves.
